If you love nostalgic flavor combinations, this white chocolate macadamia matcha latte is for you. Based on the classic cookie flavor, this matcha latte features nutty macadamia milk, sweet white chocolate, and some optional (but highly encouraged) fun toppings. It will make you feel like a kid again.
Because my husband and I spend winters on the northernmost Hawaiian island, I'm a huge macadamia nut fan. In fact, I have a whole guide to tropical vegan recipes, many of which feature macadamias. This is the companion recipe to my White Chocolate Macadamia Matcha Cookies, and undoubtedly the pro move is to dip the cookies into the latte.
I'm excited for you to try this fun, dessert-inspired latte. The combination of flavors works year-round, and you can enjoy it either hot or iced. And although it sounds indulgent, this recipe is vegan-friendly and far healthier than anything you'd find at a coffee shop. I know this white chocolate macadamia matcha latte is going to make you smile!

This tropical matcha latte features just a few simple ingredients. And, unlike coffee shop versions, there are no sugary or artificially-flavored syrups. First, in order to get a nutty macadamia flavor, you'll make the latte using unsweetened macadamia milk (which you can find in health food stores or online); it's delicious and creamier than almond milk. Second, in order to get all that indulgent white chocolate flavor, you'll melt a small amount of white chocolate into the macadamia milk.
In addition to those two flavor powerhouses, you'll of course use matcha. I also like to add vanilla extract and a tiny bit of sea salt in order to get that classic cookie taste.
If you're vegan, you can easily make a dairy-free white chocolate latte. Just make sure to choose vegan white chocolate chips. Because this recipe uses macadamia milk, the base of the latte is already dairy-free. If you want to add some whipped cream as I've shown in these photos, opt for coconut whip, which will enhance the tropical flavors in this recipe.

Although it looks impressive, this cookie matcha latte isn't hard to make, especially if you omit the toppings. For everyday sipping, you can make the latte itself in just a few minutes. For a cozy coffee shop vibe or a slow weekend morning, try it with the white chocolate macadamia rim and coconut whip I've shown here.
If you want to make the decorative (and very tasty!) rim, just melt some white chocolate and use it to coat the rim of a serving glass, then roll it in crushed macadamias. White chocolate can be tricky to melt, so heat it very gently to avoid burning and stir frequently. Using a double boiler is always the best bet, although a microwave can work if you're careful.
To make the latte, you'll just heat macadamia milk with a tablespoon of white chocolate chips. You can the either use it right away for a hot latte, or chill it for several hours for an iced latte. Then, all you have to do is whisk the matcha with a splash of water and add it to the white chocolate macadamia milk.
To complete the coffee shop vibe, you can top the completed latte with whipped cream or coconut whip and a few additional macadamias. Isn't this a fun combination?

This cookie-inspired matcha latte is fun, unique, and nostalgic. The combination of the nutty macadamia milk and indulgent white chocolate is a delight, especially since it's not overly sweet like flavored coffee shop drinks.
